WPD aged infrastructure & other shortcomings

The building's infrastructure is mostly original, largely obsolete and extremely inadequate. The electrical system is original and overloaded, creating safety and operational issues. The communication infrastructure is outdated and stretched. The HVAC is inefficient, inconsistent and unreliable. The fire protection system consists of heat sensors only. The roof leaks and the firearms storage and training facility is inadequate. These photos highlight only a few of these deficiencies.

Vents are covered in some rooms because the existing, original HVAC makes some rooms too hot,
while simultaneously leaving other rooms too cold, requiring the use of space heaters.

The building does not have smoke alarms or sprinklers. The existing, original fire protection system consists of only heat sensors.

Roof leaks are manifested by ceiling stains in multiple areas of the building.

The shooting range is non-operational due to noncompliance with OSHA standards and the prohibitive cost of repairs that would make it compliant.
Additionally the length of the range
does not meet distance requirements for officer certification.
Firearms storage (not pictured) is also inadequate.
