To help promote awareness of the proposed new police building, the Police-Town Hall Building Committee is pleased to host
bakers & builders gingerbread competition - police edition!
Bakers, Builders, Artists and Engineers of all ages & skill levels
have designed and built POLICE BUILDINGS and/or POLICE CARS
for this not-your-typical gingerbread event.

Create an arresting design of a POLICE BUILDING or POLICE CAR by following these guidelines:
- Build a "gingerbread" structure using any homemade OR purchased edible material (ie gingerbread, graham crackers, cookies, etc).
- Everything visible on the structure and base must be edible (ie candy wrappers are not allowed), with three exceptions:
- battery powered elements
- the edge of the base
- lollipops with paper or plastic sticks may be used but must be unwrapped.
- Not use edible materials that melt or deteriorate easily.
- The structure may have up to two battery powered elements (ie lights, turning device) but are not required.
- Entries must be original. Gingerbread House kits are not allowed.
- Non-edible material may be used on the interior of the structure to provide support and attach parts but must not be visible.
- The structure must be on a base that cannot bend or collapse and must not exceed 20"x20".
- The base must be part of the overall design.
- Designs must be family friendly.

- All ages and skill sets are welcome to participate.
- Entrants may be an Individual, Family, Group of Friends*, Organization or Business.
- Individual, Group of Friends and Organization entrants will have two age categories: Adult and Student
- Only one entry per Individual, Family, Group of Friends, Organization or Business. However an Individual entrant may be a member of a Family, Organization or Business that also submits an entry.
- For those who aren't interested in the competition, we hope you will participate for the joy and challenge of it!

Drop off/Pick up/Display
- Entries must be dropped off at Wilton Library's Brubeck Room Friday, December 3, 10:30am-3:30pm.
- Entries will be on display at Wilton Library the evening of December 3 through December 17, 2021.
- Entries must be picked up from Wilton Library Saturday, December 18, 10:30am-4:30 or Sunday, December 19, 1:30-4:30pm.
- Community members may vote for a Fan Favorite Police Building AND Police Car at Wilton Library December 3 (5:30-7:00pm), December 4-11 (during regular library hours), and December 12 (1:00-3:00pm).
- Judges will select the following awards, for a Police Building AND a Police Car:
- Most Realistic - based on attention to detail
- Most Creative - based on unique and imaginative design and use of materials
- Architect’s Award - based on complexity, precision and construction detail
- Judges' backgrounds will include law enforcement, architecture and culinary arts.
- Winners will be announced Sunday, December 12, on National Gingerbread House Day.
- Prizes will be blue ribbons and bragging rights!
